The TC Midget series which started after World War II did more than any other machine to foster and spread the cult of the European Sports car in America. Soldiers saw the small sporty cars while in England during WW II and once home these young men looked to the automotive industry to provide the same type of ride.
The first modernization of the MG Post War Era was introduced in the 1949 TD Series. Box section frame, wishbone and coil-spring independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering, along with other minor changes, carried this model through until the TF series was introduced in 1953.
