Art Fitzpatrick “Portraits Of Cars” Art Collection on Display at the Automobile Driving Museum
The Automobile Driving Museum is proud to exhibit and display the Art Fitzpatrick “Portraits Of Cars” art collection. Many artists can claim success, even fame, but only the exceptional few become icons. In the milieu of automotive painting and design, Art Fitzpatrick is that rarest of figures, a true icon. During a career spanning an astounding seven decades, “Fitz,” now 89 years young, has produced everything from car designs to best-selling commemorative stamps, in the process accumulating some 50 major art and design awards. Yet he’s most famous for his more than 700 auto advertisements, particularly the 1959-1971 “Wide Track” campaign for Pontiac—considered by many to be the most recognizable, successful, and influential
auto-advertising artwork of all time. To see his artwork, click here.

We invite you to see the spectacular restored antique, classic and special interest cars displayed at our El Segundo Museum. The 28,000 square foot facility puts you up close to more than 70 cars on display. Our collection of automobiles dates back to a 1904 2-cylinder Schacht that has been restored to its original factory condition.

Whether you were old enough to have driven an antique car or you have heard stories from your grandparents about how wonderful automobiles were "built" back in the day, we invite you to see and "take a ride" in one of our amazing museum cars.Admission to the museum is by donation only and rides in select museum vehicles occur on Sunday's from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please see the "take you for a ride" page for detailed information.

The Automobile Driving Museum offers its one of a kind facility to host all kinds of special events and parties. Visit our events page to learn how you can host your next event at the museum or complete our special events form and one of our professional event planners will contact you.
